Arduino-based AoA Indexer with DCS-Bios
Scroll DownHardware is key to any immersive sim experience. Off-the-shelf components are great - and the selection is getting better every day - but there’s something fun about doing it yourself.
I had an Arduino kit lying around, with some colorful led lights and a breadboard. With DCS-Bios, I turned those into an angle-of-attack indexer for my F/A-18C Hornet, and used it to fly a carrier approach.
Check out the video!
I captured the whole process in a brief video - from wiring to coding and the flight test.
Doing it yourself
If you’d like to try this approach yourself you only need a few things:
- Get The Hardware - “30 Days Lost in Space” Arduino Kit - Inventr.io
- Install the DCS Connection - Dcs-bios
- Follow the Circuit Design - Tinkercad
